Multiple Window Least Squares Evolutionary Spectral Analysis

چکیده
We present a multi–window method for obtaining the time-frequency spectrum of a non–stationary signal. This method is based on optimal combination of evolutionary spectra that are calculated by using multi– window Gabor expansion. The optimal weights are obtained by using a least square estimation method. An error criterion that is the difference between a reference time–frequency distribution and the combination of evolutionary spectra is minimized to determine the weights. Examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. Key-Words: Time-frequency analysis, Evolutionary spectrum, Multiple-window time-frequency analysis.

متن کاملInstantaneous Frequency Estimation for Multi- Component Signals Using a Least Squares Evolutionary Spectrum
We present a method for estimating the instantaneous frequency of the multi-component signals. This method involves the calculation of a time-frequency energy density of the signal, then obtaining an instantaneous frequency estimation from this joint density. Time-frequency energy density is calculated as a least squares optimal combination of multi-window Gabor based evolutionary spectra. The ...
متن کاملOn the Use of Discrete Prolate Spheroidal Windows for Frequency Selective Filter Design
The FIR filter design problem is considered with respect to a combined integrated squared error-Chebyshev error criterion. Truncation of the DTFT of the desired frequency response with tapered windows is introduced and the discrete prolate spheroidal window is shown to be a good window for this purpose, due to its optimal mainlobe width-sidelobe energy tradeoff. The discrete prolate spheroidal ...
متن کاملMultiple window non-linear time-varying spectral analysis
A non-linear multi-window method for generating a time-varying spectrum of non-stationary signals in noise is presented. The timevarying spectrum is computed from an optimally weighted average of multiple Hermite windowed spectrograms. The weights are determined using linear least squares estimation with respect to a reference time-frequency distribution. A masking operation is also used to red...
